Students First
Program
We work with and through the Hardin Independent School District to provide new clothing and toiletries to underprivileged students. All at no cost to the student or their family. The program is not limited to clothing and toiletries only. Other items will be considered on an 'as needed' basis. Students who are identified for the program will be vetted and approved. Once vetted and approved, a registration form must be completed with parental consent. The program starts over at the beginning of each school year.
Back-To-School
Supply Drive
We partner with businesses, churches and community members to facilitate a supply drive for the schools in the Hardin Independent School District.
Meeting
Others Needs
We partnered with members of Hardin Baptist and Hardin Methodist Churches, and our volunteers to provide emergency clothing requests for 11 students in Jr. High and High School at the beginning of 2021-2022 school year, plus provided clothing for 1 sibling.
We provided meat for 3 families through the High School during Thanksgiving of 2021.
In Spring of 2022, we provided Field Trip T-Shirts for 11 Elementary students in need.
In Spring of 2023, we donated clothes and shoes to Amory, Mississippi Tornado Victims. In Fall of 2023, we provided an emergency request for 3 children in need.
Christmas
Tree Lighting & Parade
Hardin Helping Hands sponsors an annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, Parade, and activities for children. This annual event is free to the public. We also use this time to recognize our annual Citizen of the Year to a deserving community member from our area.
Hardin Citizen
Of The Year
Hardin Helping Hands accepts nominations for Citizen of the Year during the month of October each year. Recipient of the award is announced during the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.
Christmas
Dinner Baskets
We provide a Christmas Dinner Basket to the families of students registered in our Students First Program. This basket provides enough food to feed their entire family and guests a Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings.
